RRB ALP Vacancy 2026
A total of 11,127 vacancies have been notified for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP).
The detailed RRB-wise and Zone-wise vacancy distribution is provided in Annexure-B of the official notification. Vacancies may increase or decrease depending on the requirements of the Railway Administration.
Salary
Selected candidates will receive:
- Basic Pay: ₹19,900

Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications before the last date of application:
- Matriculation (10th Pass) + ITI
- Matriculation + Course Completed Act Apprenticeship
- Diploma in Engineering
- Engineering Degree (Relevant Discipline)
Candidates awaiting final examination results are not eligible to apply.

Medical Standard (Very Important)
The ALP post requires A-1 Medical Standard.

- Normal colour vision

- Good night vision
- Field vision test
- Mesopic vision
Candidates who have undergone LASIK surgery or any refractive eye surgery are NOT eligible for ALP.
Selection Process
The recruitment process consists of:
- CBT-1
- CBT-2
- Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

- Medical Examination
Only candidates qualifying every stage will be considered for final appointment.
Negative Marking
- CBT-1: 1/3 mark deducted for each wrong answer.
- CBT-2: 1/3 mark deducted for each wrong answer.
- CBAT: No Negative Marking
